Newsprint
Applied pigments absorb deeply into the raw newsprint matrix. When front lit, metallics are amazingly fluid and exquisitely highlighted. Colors appear deeper and darker in hue because of the absorption factor.
When back lit, the opposite effect occurs. Metallics transform into darker, opaque tones and the colors become absolutely electric and full of energy.
Newsprint creations are often encapsulated (laminated) to add thickness and protection when used for suspensions, earrings, lampshades, and other back lit applications.
